The Memories of Celebrating Maal Hijrah

Hi everyone,i'm Nurulfarah Aqilah. In this time, I want to tell about my Memory of Celebrating Maal Hijrah.

Alhamdulillah praises be to Allah for everything He has given up until now. We have entered a new year of  Islam Calendar1 Muharram 1432 Hijrah. 1431 Hijrah has been a very momentous year for me. A life turner. Just a little glimpse of the meaningful events that happened throughout the year.

Maal Hijrah is an important day for Muslims for signifying an important event in Islamic history that commemorates the migration of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w from Makkah to Medina in 622 AD. The historic event took place at 1 Muharram of the new year for the Hijab Calendar. But the Hijri year of Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Medina was taken as the beginning of the count for the Hijrah calendar.

In Malaysia that was a religious day for Muslims by holding a ‘subnat prayer’ at all mosques across the country. Maal Hijrah is a holiday in Malaysia. It is given to all student and all employess in Malaysia.

In this time, I celebrating a Maal Hijrah at KPTMAS. Kptm residents have been working with people around the residential area to make asyura porridge in the morning until 12 p.m. After that, we were served lunch by other people such as rice, fish curry and more dishes.

Lastly, At the same time, various religious activities will be carried out such as spiritual activities and the recitation of Koranic verses.Since special prayers and sermons are conducted in public halls and mosques, areas around mosques might be congested in the evenings and at night.

Okay that’s all can I tell you all about my memories on the ceremony. See you next blog.
